Used Mazda 6 For Sale

Mazda 6 cars were introduced in 2002 as estates and mid-size sedans. The model was created by the Mazda Motor Corporation and has been used in the Sports Car Club of America racing series. It was brought in to replace the 626 which was in production from 1979. The first generation of the model spanned from 2002 until 2008. The Mazda 6 was available as a four-door sedan, five-door estate and five-door liftback. Known in North America as the 'Sport Sedan', it was available in four to six speed and used a Mazda GG platform. 2006 saw the introduction of the Mazdaspeed 6. This form of the secondhand Mazda 6 had a higher performance than the normal Mazda 6. It came with a turbo-charged 2.3 litre engine which featured direct fuel injection, four-wheel drive and raised bonnet. 'Car and Driver' magazine boasted acceleration of 0-60 mph in 5.4 seconds. Mazda 6 sales for the second generation began after its unveiling in 2007 at the Frankfurt Auto Show. These cars were based on the Mazda GH chassis. Three body styles are available: four-door saloon, five-door hatchback, and estate. The steering was improved and the hatchback version was given more boot space. The new 2011 Mazda 6 was unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. Upgrades of these Mazda 6 models included the headlights, fog lights and the addition of 17 inch alloy wheels, as well as a new steering wheel and improved seat materials for the interior. In terms of awards, the first generation won second place in the 2003 'European of the Year' magazine. The second generation Mazda 6 won the 2010 Family Car of the Year Award by 'What Car?' magazine. Used Mazda 6 vehicles have been driven by the Baglie racing team and used in the KONI Challenge Series Sport Touring class.
