With production of the Bentley Arnage marking the end of the line for this model, it has become one of the most desirable and sought after cars on the market. With only 150 available, the chances of securing your Arange may be slim to none. Coming loaded with a 500bhp V8 engine and an astounding 1000Nm of torque that powers the 6 speed ZF automatic transmission, this car is definitely not a disappointment when it comes to power.
The Arnage is equipped with 20-inch five spoke alloy wheels, a retractable Flying B top, headlamp bezels that are colored to match the car, lower front wing air vents, a Bentley Jewel fuel cap, twin exhaust tail pipes and a badge commemorating that this is one of the final Arnages produced. These are just a few of the many extras that have been included in the final series of the Arnage.
The interior of the Arnage offers a large display audio system with an SD slot included. There are also more commemorative emblems placed throughout the interior, the tread plates are embossed with FINAL SERIES which makes them a reminder of just how special this car is. The brake and gas pedals feature a drilled design. There are also a stainless steel flask and shot glasses and two veneer trimmed picnic tables included to commemorate the final series of this car. There are also removable cup holders for the passengers in the back seat along with a cocktail cabinet.
The engine is primarily the same that has been used since the Arnage’s inception. It has of course been upgraded through the years from the 200bhp 6.25 liter unit. With the discovery of turbochargers in the 1980’s, the engine has continued to evolve into what it is today. The final series has an impressive 500bhp V8, which has 300bhp more than when the car was introduced. Not to mention that the latest Arnage uses sixty percent less fuel and produces 99 percent less emissions. There are three transmission modes to choose from, drive, and sport and semi-automatic. This allows the driver to enjoy the smooth ZF automatic. The semi-automatic allows the driver to select gears sequentially by using the gear shift allowing for ultimate control. The Bentley engine has come a long way throughout its impressive existence.
Previous versions of the Arnage featured an engine and transmission that were controlled by separate electronic controls; the new version features a Bosch unit which makes for an easier driving experience. By allowing the suspension and gearbox to be activated independently offers the driver better control of the vehicle. The recalibration of the ESP stability control system and the traction control allows for a full power restoration sooner.
Driving the Arnage is something that only a handful of people will ever get to experience, but when they do they will be treated to a powerful surge of power, a smooth ride that allows the slightest bump in the road to go almost unnoticed and an overall pleasurable driving experience.
