The Chevrolet Matiz Range cars may not be what could be termed as sporty cars, but they are still fun to drive. With their extra small body size and their spot-on responsive steering, they are a blast to maneuver through heavy city traffic. Rather than being stuck in a lane with a larger car too big to move over, you can zip in where others could only dream of fitting. Gliding into a small parking place is a breeze as well.
The fun carries over into the interior of the car, where driver and passenger can sit contentedly in the surprisingly roomy seeming comfort. Conversation goes on uninterrupted by car sounds because Chevrolet has made sure to use its skills to reduce the noise of the car’s interior environment. The riders can also sit at ease because they are not trying to hold onto their various take-along items like sunglasses, maps and drinks. There are plenty of holders for all of these in the Matiz.
The engines of the Chevrolet Matiz Range are sound, but not too impressive. At the entry level is the 0.8 liter engine. Its highest attainable speed is 92mph for the manual and 84 for the automatic. It is very slow to accelerate, going from 0 to 62 in 18.2 seconds for the manual 0.8 S model, or 21.9 for the automatic 0.8 SE. The Matiz 1.0 does somewhat better in engine performance. It gets up to a top speed of 97mph, and it can go from 0 to 60mph in 14.1 seconds.
Yet, a Matiz is still fun to drive if you are not determined to be the first to pull away from the stoplight. Moving freely through the city cannot be beat for someone who spends most of her time in an urban setting. The responsive steering and suspension make them a blast to scoot around the city in, and they have a fun look too. Cute is simply not the right word for this nifty little machine. It is bolder in its styling than that. The lines are crisp and straight, and there is nothing about it that smacks of lollipops and teddy bears. It is a grownup car for a grownup person.
Grownups, by the way, are interested in facts like fuel economy and low emissions. The Chevrolet Matiz is outstanding in both areas. The Matiz 0.8 S hands out 54.3mpg in combined driving, and the Matiz 0.8 SE Automatic delivers 49.6mpg combined. Even the slightly bigger and more powerful engine of the Matiz 1.0 gives an impressive 50mpg in the combined cycle. Emissions are low as well, with the 0.8 S giving off a mere 119g/kg of CO2 emissions. Even the bigger Matiz 1.0 only has a rating of 139g/kg.
At the same time, grownups still want to have fun. With all the money they will be saving on this car, they will have the cash to have a really great time elsewhere. Between the deep savings on the purchase price and the savings at the pump, the Chevrolet Matiz Range offers fantastic deals for anyone.
