BMW 1 Series offers acceleration and eco-friendliness
10 March 2009Used car fans looking for a car that offers rapid acceleration alongside being in support of the environment could find their answer from BMW.
Writing for Top Gear, Pierce Ward states that the BMW 1 Series Coupe 135d M-Sport has "seriously impressive" raw figures.
While being able to accelerate to 62 miles per hour from standstill in 7.0 seconds, motorists can still receive 54.3 miles to the gallon, which Mr Ward considers "staggering".
Also, the vehicle generates less than 140g/km of CO2, which is a decent return for eco-friendly motorists looking for a vehicle with a bit of poke.
Furthermore, Mr Ward comments that the ride offered by the vehicle is similar to that of a sports car, with the overall conclusion stating that the BMW allows a motorist to be as "wild or calm" as they like when inside.
When testing the BMW 1 Series Hatchback, What Car? remarked that the vehicle was "engaging to drive, thanks to sharp handling and communicative steering".
