Bumper May for Chevrolet
05 June 2009
Chevrolet is managing to defy the economic downturn, the manufacturer has suggested.
Chevrolet enjoyed a bumper month in May, the manufacturer has claimed. The group revealed it sold some 1,589 new autos during the four week period.
It explained this makes the month one of its most successful Mays since setting up in the UK in 2005.
The firm's market share increased by 1.18 per cent - a rise of 40 per cent compared with the same time period during 2008.
Within the manufacturer's range, the Matiz proved to be most popular in May, with scrappage scheme participants able to drive away in the model for £4,295.
Commenting on the results, managing director Mark Terry said: "To buck the overall trend of the new car market at all is an achievement - to do it at this level is unprecedented."
Meanwhile, motorists reluctant to shell out for one of the companys latest vehicles may find they can get a great deal on a used Chevrolet instead.
