A car enthusiast from Leominster is to fulfil a life-long dream and spend some time driving a used Lotus after winning a competition, reports the Hereford Times.Peter Bishop, who has worked in the motor trade since the 1970s, won £500 worth of Silverstone experience vouchers after proving to be knowledgeable about used cars in a competition.
The 51-year-old won the competition, run by the Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA), which required respondents to decipher motoring abbreviations and prove they were 'service savvy'.
Mr Bishop, who is a keen motorsport follower, said he will use some of his vouchers to whizz around in a Lotus Elise.
"I think I'll have a single-seater experience, drive a Lotus Elise and probably a rally drive all things I've always wanted to do," he explained.
The Lotus Elise was released in 1996 and comes in many editions, including the Sports Racer and the Type 99T.
Among the jobs of the ATA is to test the competence of individuals who work within the retail motoring industry.
