Citroen UK has launched a new online competition that gives contestants a chance to win a new DS3 supermini model.
Using a virtual landscape of Google's Street View mapping platform, entrants have to look for four pieces of the new DS3 supermini, as well as a complete car, for a chance to drive home a brand new DS3 White 1.6 VTi 120hp.
The competition will last for five days, and every day Citroën will give a cryptic clue, tipping-off at where a DS3 piece is hidden, somewhere across Europe's virtual map. As soon as the entrants found all the pieces, a clue about the location of the complete DS3 will be revealed. The first contestant to find the DS3 will win a real-life version of the model.
In true 'hide and seek' style, entrants who visit the DS3 StreetSeekers microsite can 'roam' around the virtual streets of the application until they discover a DS3 piece. To help them find the hidden pieces, a graphic is provided, which gives them a hint whether they are getting 'hot' or 'cold' as they 'travel'. When entrants walk over the secret coordinates, the DS3 pieces spring into view. The microsite also uses Facebook Connect, allowing entrants to inform all of their friends when they find a DS3 piece, invite them to join the competition, and also give them a chance of winning.
Aside from the top prize, Xbox 360 and iPod Touch units are also up for grabs. If entrants do not find the four hidden pieces as well as the car in the first round, they are still qualified to join the two more rounds of competition with new hidden locations and prizes.
The first round of the competition will run from 27-31 July, with the clue about the location of the car being announced on 31 July. The second round will run from 17-21 August and the third round from 7-11 September. Winners will be contacted within 72 hours.
