It seems that the British automotive market has gone retro this summer. After the announcement of Goodwood organisers that they would be launching Vintage at Goodwood Festival, a UK website is now introducing a unique online picture library featuring prints of thousands of classic British used cars.

Motorgraphs is offering more than 5,000 iconic and rare historic photographs, adverts, as well as other promotional materials - all available in just a click of a mouse. The prints came straight from the extensive historic photo archives of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust (BMIHT). In addition, there are also hundreds of nostalgic motor sporting images from the Spitzley Collection and the Grand Prix Library.

These priceless resources cover more than a centenary-long history of the motor industry and motorsport, including advertising, brochures, manufacturing, posters, racing, rallying and social history. Many of the images were taken by legendary action photographers like Nigel Snowden, George Monkhouse and Geoffrey Goddard.

The website offers three main categories - Motoring, Motor Sport and Motor Industry. Other sub-categories include the Mini-Cooper, The Austin Magazine covers, MGB, Lotus, Sir Alec Issigonis, Design & Landmarks and much more.

"This is a labour of love for all concerned, and has involved sorting through some three million images, selecting and scanning the most iconic ones for the site. We will be adding more on a regular basis, and expanding the categories, while also including photographs from other libraries", said David Weguelin, film maker and researcher at Motorgraphs.

Prints can be obtained directly from the website and are available on thicker Art paper, standard quality paper, with gloss or satin finish, stretched or rolled canvas, all framed or unframed. Prints for commercial and private purposes are also available upon request. Payment for the pictures is made online, and the purchase is dispatched within days.
