A couple has been given a new Kia after their baby was born in one.
A couple who ended up welcoming their baby daughter into the world in the back of used Kia have been given a new one to celebrate.Sam Smyth and Tony Richardson, who decided to name their baby after the automotive company, were on their way to Poole Hospital in their Kia Carens when the little one decided not to wait any longer.
After hearing about the unusual circumstances Kia was born in, the company decided to give the family a great start and gift them with a top-of-the-range 2009 seven-seat Kia Carens, said to be worth £17,995.
Ms Smyth said she is "chuffed".
"Thank you to Kia for arriving and to Kia for the car," she added.
The manufacturer pointed out that naming a baby after something significant was already a trend with celebrities.
Some of the rarer monikers recently used by famous actors and singers for their children include Apple - daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin - and Aurelius Cy, whose parents are Elle Macpherson and Arpad Busson.
