I heard about the moulds that had been lying untouched in a barn for 20 years so following a commission from a client to build a classic race car for a series based in Malaysia, we decided to go ahead and build the Tuscan, said Mike Luck, the managing director.
Luck explained that only 20 LWB Tuscans were ever made at the time, partly due to supply issues of the 4.7 litre Ford V8 engine. According to Luck, recreating the Tuscan and seeing it created stage-by-stage was fantastic. Speaking of the forthcoming road version Luck has said that the team has named it the Titan.
The race car version of Tuscan will be shown at Stoneleigh Park, Coventry, during the Race Retro show on 12-14 March, where further information will be made available about the Titan.
The LWB Tuscan V8 followed in the footsteps of the famous Griffith 400 and we have endeavoured to capture its iconic shape together with a stunning performance within a simple, functional style, explained Luck.
His team has more than 45 years experience with regard to race preparation and car restoration. An important team member is Chris Schirle, an ex-TVR competition manager who worked with Peter Wheeler from 1982 to 1987. During that time, Schirle was behind the success of 450 SEAC Wedge car making the company a major UK motorsports participant.
