Mazda Motors UK has recently announced that it is anticipating its facelifted Mazda6 model to increase the company's fleet sales, thanks to its improved fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions. In the 12 months to 31 May 2011, Mazda anticipates that they will sell over 10,500 units of the Mazda6 of which roughly 7,600 (72%) are to be fleet sales.

Company and fleet car drivers can choose from estate and hatchback models, four equipment levels - Sport, TS2, TS and S - and three diesel and three petrol engine options.

All engines fitted to the upgraded Mazda6 range have passed the Euro Stage V test for emissions, apart from the 1.8 litre engine which will be tested for Euro Stage V compliant when its production starts in July 2010.

"With its well positioned list price and lower rates of depreciation, I expect the upgraded Mazda6 to retain its fleet leadership position and the model to provide a springboard for further growth as it appeals to more company car drivers", Peter Allibon, fleet and remarketing director at Mazda UK, said in a release.

"I expect diesel models to account for about 90 percent of core end-user fleet sales," added Allibon.

The price range of the facelifted Mazda6 has dramatically increased by an average of 4.8%; it is now estimated between £16,995 and £23,445.

Most recently, the UK research firm, CAP Monitor, said that the Mazda6 has more worth when it reaches the fleet replacement period of 60,000 miles or three-years compared to its major car manufacturer rivals.

For instance, the 2.2d TS 125PS model which costs £17,930 will retain 35% of its value over the benchmark replacement period at £6,175, while the top-selling Mazda6 2.2d TS2 163PS with a list price of £19,760 will also retain 35% of its value worth £6,850.
