Following on from the successful sales stint of the funky Fiat 500 Pink, Italian carmaker Fiat is due to launch another unique limited edition variant of its popular 500 supermini, but this time in a more masculine guise.
Dubbed as the 500 BlackJack, emphasising the 'mysterious and irreverent' characteristics of the car, only 200 units of this particular matt black supermini will be available for sale when it hits the market this week.
Available in 1.2 and 1.4 Sport specifications, this Italian black beauty features individual matt black paint finish, glossy black accents for the mouldings, plate holder, door mirrors and door handles, 16" alloy wheels in matt black with red coach line and red brake callipers (for 1.4 specification), and special carpet mats.
Inside, it boasts seats upholstered in black or red leather and fabric with silver seams and unique trim on the gear knob, and leather steering wheel.
The 500 Blackjack is available in four engines: three petrols and a diesel. There is a 1.3 litre MultiJet II diesel engine which generates 95bhp, a 1.4-litre petrol unit with 100bhp, a 900cc TwinAir engine which puts out 84bhp and a 1.2-litre unit which produces 69bhp.
In addition, like all Fiat 500 models, the 500 BlackJack comes equipped with Fiat's Start&Stop technology, which automatically stops the engine whenever traffic conditions cause the car to a complete stop and restarts it automatically when the driver wants to move on again.
"The paint finish is the most striking feature of this new limited edition", said Fiat Group Automobiles UK and Ireland's marketing director Elena Bernardelli. "It has previously been a characteristic of new supercars, and gives the Fiat 500 a stunning new image. I am sure the BlackJack will be a huge hit with Fiat 500 fans".
As with other special edition 500 models, the new 500 BlackJack will be initially available online. It is priced at £12,165 OTR for the 1.2 version and £13,565 OTR for the 1.4 Sport.
