Firecracker engine in the Audi A4 Avant
12 March 2009Motorists considering whether to buy an Audi A4 Avant have been told by a reviewer that it has a "firecracker of a turbo diesel engine".
Alistair Coull states in the Perthshire Advertiser that the Audi A4 170PS Avant has a 2.0-litre engine that provides an "impressive" amount of extra power.
Also, motorists can get almost 46 miles to the gallon from the engine, with the six-speed gearbox described as "almost superfluous".
Passengers in the rear are offered more legroom due to a longer wheelbase, according to Mr Coull, and all occupants receive a "firm but comfortable ride", particularly on motorways.
To conclude, he states that the Avant is "good to drive" and will remain desirable as a result of Audi's strong brand image and high quality.
Furthermore, buyers will benefit from the bonus of "lively performance to match its desirability".
A review of the Audi A4 Avant by Channel Four indicated that the vehicle is "good looking" with an attractive interior and is "very nicely insulated" to prevent outside noise being heard when in the vehicle.
