First taste offered of Volvo S80
26 February 2009Used car drivers awaiting the launch of the Volvo S80 this summer have been given an early chance to appreciate some of the vehicle's impressive features.
The executive saloon will be available with three diesel engines, while featuring an interior that is high in luxury and comfort.
Motorists looking to pick an environmentally-friendly model may find the DRIVe engine to be the best, with the alternate options being the 2.4D and the D5.
In terms of the vehicle's exterior, a new grille makes the front more distinctive, while new chrome detailing is present under the tail lamps and on the lower sections of the doors.
Volvo Cars president and chief executive Stephen Odell said: "The new S80 should not just be seen, it has to be experienced.
"The atmosphere inside is both more comfortable and luxurious. We've also made the interior more driver-oriented, with a new steering wheel and upgraded instruments."
According to a review of the Volvo S80 by BBC television programme Top Gear, the vehicle is "safe, smart and comfortable", while the cabin is thought to be "fantastic".
