An excellent combination of versatility, lifestyle, workhorse practicality and driver appeal has paved the way for the Mazda6 2.2 litre diesel Estate to scoop up the 'Best Estate Car' award in the Fleet World Honours 2010 held at London's Royal Automobile Club last week.
The title completes a spectacular quartet of accolades for the Mazda6, which was recently named the 'Best Estate Car' of both What Car? and Fleet News magazines and has won The Caravan Club's 'Towcar of the Year 2010' award.
"Mazda continues to build on its solid reputation in the fleet market as a manufacturer of stylish and attractive cars. But it also features all the clever touches we have come to expect from Mazda, converting from a five-seater into a load-lugger in a matter of seconds", said Steve Moody, the chairman of judges at Fleet World Honours.
The Mazda6 is powered by a 163PS 2.2 litre Diesel Estate TS2 and is priced at just £20,559 OTR. Its keen pricing, competitive CO2 emissions and appealing residual values saw the Mazda6 beat off its tough competitors.
"This further recognition from the fleet industry represents the superb reputation that the Mazda6 range has developed over the past eight years since the original launch", commented Mazda UK Fleet and Remarketing Director Peter Alibon.
The face-lifted range of the 19-model Mazda6 has recently burst into the showrooms in two body styles (estate and hatchback), four equipment levels (Sport, TS2, TS and S), and six engines (three diesel and three petrol). The Mazda6 Estate 2.0 TS model is priced starting from £19,295 OTR.
