Ford adds 100th vehicle to heritage
05 January 2010
Car maker Ford has made an addition to its heritage collection.
The Ford Focus RS has joined the Ford Heritage Collection in Essex, the car firm has announced. It is the 100th vehicle to be placed there, joining models such as the 1970 Escort, which is one of just seven GT70 automobiles created.
This is despite its youth - the car was launched only last year.
John Nevill, heritage fleet administrator, stated: "The Focus RS joins some very special cars and proves you're never too young to be a classic."
Over the course of 2009, the heritage collection saw a flurry of activity as guests were given the chance to drive a Model AA truck and see cars such as the Ford Dagenham estate, which turned 80 during the year.
New and used Fords are popular in Britain today.
According to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, published by Car magazine, the Focus and Fiesta were the top selling models for 1999 and 2009.
