Ford Focus named Used Car of the Decade

18 December 2009

The Ford Focus has been praised as a used car.

An independent car pricer has deemed the Ford Focus the Used Car of the Decade.

CAP presented the accolade to the model, praising its durability and engineering.

Mark Norman, who chaired the judging panel, said that the used Ford Focus "has satisfied every criteria for the demanding consumer requiring a true five-seat family car".

According to Ford, more than 1,300,000 new and used Fords are in use in Britain now.

Jon Wellsman, sales director of Ford of Britain, called the Focus a "dynamic" car that the brand is still working to improve.

Any used car available from 2000 to the present year was eligible to compete for the award.

Newer Ford models were recently announced by the maker.

The latest S-MAX and Galaxy cars will be displayed at the Brussels Motor Show in January, exhibiting their new interior materials and technology.

John Fleming, chairman and chief executive officer of Ford of Europe, said that both cars have "a fresh new look".
