With its premium design and advanced technology, Ford Motors has again proven its superiority, winning accolades at the recently held 2010 Businesscar Awards. The elegant Galaxy claimed the overall MPV title for the fourth year in a row, while the sporty S-MAX has claimed the Mini-MPV award.
The Ford Galaxy has braced up its segment-leading credentials by earning the award for the fourth time. The improved model boasts of 2.0 litre diesel engines available in 163PS, 140PS and 115PS power outputs with very low CO2 emissions starting at 152g/km. Innovative systems have been introduced in the car such as the Adjustable Speed Limiter device and the Blind Spot Information System. It has also combined highest levels of space with first-class driving quality, innovation and comfort.
The Galaxy has been considered the top-selling seven-seat, multi purpose vehicle in the UK having topped the 147,000 sales figures since 1996, continuing to outsell its competitors.
Just like the Galaxy, the Ford S-MAX has been fitted with new engines such as the new EcoBoost petrol engine alongside the frugal and smooth Powershift automatic transmission. As such, S-MAX is an exclusive combination of an enhanced dynamic ability, functional excellence and premium sports styling.
This seven-seat flexible sports activity vehicle has sold more than 41,000 units in the UK since its launching in 2006.
"We are delighted to receive such prestigious awards. We aim to match closely the needs of our business customers and the wants of individual drivers and these awards demonstrate that we have succeeded with both the S-MAX and the Galaxy", said Kevin Griffin, fleet operations director from Ford of Britain.
