Ford Motors have released a brand-new addition to its thoroughbred line of fast cars - in the form of the dazzling new Fiesta S1600.
Developed from the iconic Fiesta Zetec-S, the interior of the sporty S1600 adds a leather steering wheel, gearknob and handbrake cover, heated and stitched leather sports car seats with side-airbags, plus Motorsport-branded scuff plates and floor mats.
On the outside, the car's sporting pedigree can be easily identified through a bespoke body-styling kit, which includes a redesigned front bumper with flaring lower valence panel, large rear diffuser and rear spoiler, and extended side skirts.
The S1600 is available in Performance Blue or Frozen White with contrasting, motorsport-themed longitudinal stripes. It also rides on special 17-inch alloy wheels finished in white.
At the heart of the car is a responsive engine range consisting of a diesel powerplant and two petrol units. The first two are the muscular 1.6 litre Duratec Ti-VCT that produces 120hp and the 1.4 litre producing 95 hp, while the diesel engine is a 1.6 litre TDCI offering 90hp. For customers seeking greater performance, an additional upgrade package for engines will be offered through Mountune, the reputable performance tuning partner of Ford Motors.
"Since its introduction, Fiesta and sporting pedigree have never been far apart and the latest incarnation of that is S1600, bringing extra motorsport feel to the award-winning Fiesta style and driving quality", said Gill Palmer, Fiesta Product Manager of Ford of Britain.
Customers are encouraged to place their orders as early as possible, as only 650 units of the Fiesta S1600 will be produced. They are now available from Ford Motors dealers with prices starting at £16,645 on-the-road.
