Ford Motor Company has revealed the new "MirrorNavi", a satellite navigation unit placed along side the rear view mirror as an extended holder. This new feature replaced the original rear view mirror and offers drivers the high-tech solution to navigate at the same time checking the rear view. The rear view nav is compatible with Ford car and vehicle ranges. It can also be fitted in an hour by a Ford dealer, mounting without any damages or visible wires to the main instrument panel.
The "MirrorNavi" avoids clutter of screen-mounted devices and restricted view and it integrated mounting without any visible wiring. It provides no suction cup marks to warn burglars and is defined as an integrated navigation system for insurance purposes.
Several insurance companies have defined "MirrorNavi" as a fitted navigation system for their purposes. Another advantage of this rear view navigator is the absence of suction cup marks on the windscreen that can alert thieves.
The navigator itself has dimming and tinted mirror glass, anti-theft security and battery charging connection and it is available on all Ford vans and cars.
Made by Garmin and Wollnikom, the "MirrorNavi" includes a 3.5-inches touch-screen colour display, 2D or 3D map display, destination memory, an internal memory and card slot, maps and EcoRoute and voice response for over 70 countries and languages.
Available now in the UK, "MirrorNavi" costs around £299 plus other local dealer fitting charges.
