Porsche UK has announced the date for the free Service Clinic to its 911 model. Owners are invited to visit official dealers across the UK on 16 October and bring their vehicle along to be checked by company technicians.
According to Porsche, this event is in celebration of the "tenacity" of 911 and the fact that more than three quarters of all Porsches sold are still on the road.
Owners will also have the chance to know more about the model's technical highlights and heritage, as each Porsche Centre will provide four-wheel alignment demonstrations, feature a classic 911 exhibit and invite customers to join in a draw to win a scale model of the 1964 Porsche 901 - the original 911, from the Porsche Design Driver's Selection range.
The Porsche 911 Service Clinic was based on the Boxster Service Clinic, which was held earlier this year serving more than 440 Porsche Boxsters throughout the UK in just one day. The checks are made by appointment and on a first come, first served basis only.
Since it was launched in 1936, the Porsche 911 has evolved continuously to become one of the most iconic vehicles in the world.
Owners love its rear-engined layout that guarantees motoring thrills. It was considered as among the most reliable sportscars available, however parts can be quite expensive. Engine repairs, in particular, can be costly because of the restricted access to the engine's top, which means it needs to be removed out of the car in many cases.
