Honda Motors UK has allowed customers and the media to be involved in the process of improving the specification of the low-emission, five-door hatchback Insight Hybrid.
The carmaker has used early customers' feedbacks and comments to enhance the ride comfort and NVH levels of the Insight. It initially focused on suspension, as many customers claimed that the car's ride was too rough and its comfort level not satisfactory, prompting the Japanese marque to tweak the suspension to address this negative issue.
Honda has implemented a number of changes in the chassis, such as changing the rear camber angles, softening the springs recoil rate and modifying the V-shape rear suspension brace and aligning mounts. The enhancements promise to offer improved ride, stability and handling.
Honda has also extended the Insight line-up by adding a new, range-topping variant - dubbed EX. The model boasts an array of standard equipment including a satellite navigation system and black leather upholstery.
Apart from these improvements to suspension, the carmaker has added rear parking sensors to both ES and EX models and changed some trim to doll up the interior. Seat and dashboard colours have been also changed for a more uniform finish; chrome rings now surround air vents, while the doors have received a silver garnish feature.
Customers can now also personalise their Insight with two new paint options available - Carnelian Red Pearl and Dynamic Blue Pearl.
The Insight Hybrid is priced from £16,325 for the SE model, but with the Affordable Driving offer of Honda, the car is priced at £14,995 until September 30, making it the cheapest hybrid in the market today. The highly-spec'd EX version featuring leather upholstery is priced from £20,215.
