Hyundai i10 popular with those trading in used cars
21 July 2009
Hyundai has announced its i10 is the most popular car among scrappage scheme customers.
Motorists trading in used cars for new at their local Hyundai dealership as part of the government's scrappage scheme are most likely to opt for the manufacturer's i10 model, it has been revealed. The company announced the auto has attracted one in 12 of all the cash for bangers orders placed in the UK since the initiative was launched.
It stated this made the model the most popular scrappage scheme car in the country.
The Korean firm also revealed it has sold in excess of 17,000 vehicles as a result of the project - nearly 300 autos a day.
Managing director Tony Whitehorn said the group was keen to get customers their autos as quickly as possible.
He explained: "The government funds are fast running out and we want to make sure Hyundai buyers can secure their slice of the scrappage handout before the scheme ends."
Meanwhile, motorists who do not qualify to take part in the cash for bangers programme may find a used Hyundai is a more cost-effective option than buying new.
