iQ another excellent option in small car market
07 January 2009
The Toyota iQ has been described as an excellent car in a review.
Used car drivers looking for a small car alternative to the smart fortwo or Mini One could fare worse than to purchase the Toyota iQ2.A review of the vehicle by David Wilkins for the Belfast Telegraph states that the model helps Toyota reach a market that previously had been beyond its reach.
He believes the car is "excellent", using several space saving techniques to be able to fit four people in a three metre long vehicle without resorting to a rear engine layout.
The engine chosen for the iQ2 is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit that has already been witnessed in the Toyota Aygo.
This allows the small vehicle to hit a top speed of 93 miles per hour.
The main benefits can be found in the driver's wallet and the environment, with the vehicle having a fuel consumption of 65.7 miles per gallon and only giving off CO2 emissions of 99g/km.
Also, according to Mr Wilkin, the "noise levels, ride comfort and motorway cruising ability" of the iQ2 more than matches that of larger vehicles.
Safety is not compromised in the IQ, with the vehicle designed to pass the five star NCAP rating.
