Jaguar Land Rover sets up training academy
27 January 2009
Jaguar Land Rover has invested in a new training academy to help better staff performance.
Many companies may have had to cut their staffing levels as a way of combating the recession, but manufacturers such as JaguarLand Rover have come up with a different approach. The brand is looking to the future by investing in a new high-tech training academy to help improve the training of staff members.
It is hoped that through increasing a focus towards training, staff at Jaguar Land Rover will deliver a better customer experience, which could lead to repeat sales.
Mark Wright, director of customer services, said: "Jaguar Land Rover is passionate about delivering an outstanding customer experience, the academy is an example of how we are ensuring we deliver that in all our markets.
"Over 1,000 young people in the last decade have participated in Jaguar Land Rover's advanced apprenticeship programme."
Last month, Jaguar Land Rover asked the government for financial support amid union warnings of job cuts.
Also, Tony Woodley, joint general secretary of the Unite Union, recently stated that the current economic problems are merely short term.
