08 January 2009
Jaguar has seen an increase in sales in 2008 on the previous year.
Jaguar has finished 2008 on a good note with sales of more than 65,000, an eight per cent increase on the previous year. The Jaguar XF was thought to be one of the reasons behind the good sales, with many new customers heading to the company because of it.
Mike O'Driscoll, Jaguar's managing director, said: "Despite the challenging economic conditions, Jaguar made great progress last year.
"There's no doubt that 2009 will be challenging for the entire automotive industry, but we believe the new generation of intelligently designed, technically advanced Jaguars represent the very best sporting cars on the road today."
He added that Jaguar was investing a large amount of money in the research sector of cars, a decision that "has helped us bring cars to market that are bucking the downward trend."
Around the world, the Jaguar XF has had more than 30 commendations and two magazine awards for best car of the year.
