The Kia cee'd has finished in sixth spot overall in its first ranking in the Driver Power survey.
"What a debut" is the way that the Kia cee'd's first rating in the independent Driver Power survey from Auto Express has been described.Phil Philpott, managing director of Kia Motors (UK), made the comment after the cee'd finished in sixth spot in its first performance in the survey, making it the top performer among the compact family models.
Next in the class was the Volkswagen Golf, which finished further back in the field in 22nd spot.
David Johns, editor-in-chief of Auto Express, added: "Kia's class-topping result in Driver Power is proof of how far its cars have come in terms of quality and reliability, as well as image."
The reputation of Kia has also been enhanced through the company climbing to 12th spot in the manufacturer's ranking, a rise of two positions from last year.
Some 21,400 new car drivers across the UK gave their opinions of their current vehicles in areas including reliability and practicality to help form the results.
What Car? stated in its review of the cee'd that the vehicle is "stylish" and has a "roomy" cabin.
