Kia Magentis gears up for its world premiere in April at the New York International Auto Show.
The next generation of Magentis possesses the power to surprise, Kias chief design officer, Peter Schreyer, said. Its a car that people will simply not expect from Kia - and thats exactly what we out to achieve.
The outstanding look of the car features an innovative interpretation of the carmakers bold tiger family face, further defined with its projector headlamps.
In line with the theme of the latest model revisions, Kia Magentis is wider, longer and lower compared to earlier models. The coupe-like profile of Kia is improved by the chrome arc flowing from pillars A to C. This unique design theme makes the car look lower, while improving its cab-backwards proportions.
For this car we started with a clean sheet and worked to achieve an exterior design with a European feeling and stance, said Kia Europes chief designer, Gregory Guillaume. To attain this, the car exterior was designed by the Kia Frankfurt plant, and the interior was designed by the California design team.
Kias new D-segment car is spacious and offers first-class levels of luxury and safety equipment. Additionally, the driver-oriented and intelligently configured cabin emphasises a newfound presence and poise.
This new model embodies Kias confident new design direction, Schreyer said. Its a global car with individual appeal.
