Land Rover has released specification details of the most luxurious and capable SUV in the world - the new 2011 Range Rover.

The 2011 Range Rover sports a top-quality V8 diesel engine, two Terrain Response upgrades, a new eighth-speed transmission and subtle styling enhancements at the car's exterior.

Further exterior changes include new and side vents and 'Jupiter' grilles for the diesel models, plus new Exterior Design Pack option composed of a modified front bumper with fog lamp surrounds, Titan finished side vents and front grille, stainless steel exhaust finishers, revised side sills and rear bumper.

Inside the car, there are optional new transmission controls and illuminated treadplates for the front doors, available for the diesel model.

The range of exterior colours has been further expanded with two other choices - Baltic Blue (replacing Buckingham Blue) and Fuji White (replacing Alaska White).

Technical wise, the car's LR-TDV8 4.4-litre with parallel sequential turbocharging engine car generates 313hp and 700Nm of torque. Despite the strong performance, the engine is environmentally friendly as well, delivering combined cycle fuel consumption of 30.1mpg and cutting CO2 emissions to 253g/km. Matted to the new ZF 8HP70 eight-speed automatic transmission, the car can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in 7.5 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 130mph.

The engine range is rounded off by the range-topping 5.0-litre LR-V8, supercharged petrol powerplant capable of producing 510hp and 625Nm of torque. Coupled to a ZF HP28 six-speed automatic transmission, the engine propels the car from 0 to 60mph in just 5.9 seconds.

As for enhancement made to the Terrain Response system, Land Rover introduces Gradient Acceleration Control and Hill Start Assist.

The 2011 Range Rover will hit UK showrooms in late September, with pricing details to be announced closer to the launch.
