To celebrate its comeback to the Nurburgring 24 Hours race this spring, Lexus has unveiled a new performance package to entice customers looking for a hardcore track performance.
The Nurburgring package offers additional technical revisions and aerodynamic features that improve downforce and handling without compromising the outstanding acceleration and speed that are key to the driving character of the LFA.
Greater downforce, vital to top track performances, has been developed through additions and revisions to several CFRP components of the car including side fin-type spoilers, new fixed rear wing and a larger front spoiler.
Maximum power from the 4.8-litre, V10 engine of the car has been increased to over 562bhp and gearshift times have been slashed to just 0.15 seconds. With these changes, the 202mph top speed and the 62mph acceleration in just 3.7 seconds were maintained, despite the higher downforce produced by the aerodynamic elements.
LFAs handling modifications has included mesh-type wheels shoed with keen high-grip tyres and sports tuning of the cars suspension parts.
Customers who are seeking full-blooded track performance must keep their eyes peeled, because the Nurburgring package will only be available to 50 LFAs. This is in line with the companys strictly-limited worldwide production run of only 500 units.
Nevertheless, customers can take advantage of the individual driving lessons on the Nordschleife circuit conducted by the chief instructors of Nurburgring. Plus they will receive a one-year exclusive driving pass to the circuit.
