08 September 2009
Lotus is to unveil its Range Extender for hybrid vehicles at the Frankfurt International Motor Show.
Used Lotus drivers keen to do their bit for the environment may be pleased to hear the manufacturer is working hard to develop new green technology. This year's Frankfurt International Motor Show will see the group unveil its Range Extender.
When attached to an electricity generator, the device can power the motor directly or charge the battery.
Company spokesman Paul Newsome commented: "As the world changes, Lotus Engineering continues to change with it, continuously developing solutions for more sustainable transportation."
He stated the Range Extender highlights the group's commitment to maximising efficiency, pointing out the system will be applied to hybrid vehicles.
Lotus claimed the product's low weight makes it ideal for use in such models.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, Matthew Welling from Twickenham became the first person to receive the keys of the manufacturer's new Evora model.
The motorist revealed he placed his order within seconds of the order book opening in 2008.
