British racing and sports cars manufacturer Lotus Cars has unveiled two new special editions of Elise SC RGB and Exige S RGB models to honour Roger Becker, its former director of vehicle engineering, who retired last January.
The Elise SC RGB (which stands for Roger G. Becker) boasts ultra-lightweight forged alloys, monochrome Lotus badges, touring and sport packages, an individually numbered plaque, air conditioning and signature of Roger Becker on B-pillar. At the heart of this model lies a supercharged 1.8-litre engine generating 217 horsepower, which enables the car sprint from naught to 60mph in just 4.3 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Exige S RGB features all the same specifications as Elise plus a structural shear panel that boosts lateral stiffness to the rear subframe by almost 30%. It is powered by a 257hp supercharged 1.8-litre engine, which allows the car to dash from 0 to 60mph in around four seconds.
"I am honoured that Lotus has named these two special editions after me, especially as it allows me to offer the customer my favourite specifications", said Becker.
"The past 44 years have been an incredible journey and I'm looking forward to watching Lotus progress in the future, I have no doubt that the company will continue to go from strength to strength".
On sale this September, pricing for the Elise SC RGB starts from £38,550, while the Exige S RGB wears a price tag starting from £41,950. Customers can choose from four colours: Aspen White, Carbon Grey, Solar Yellow and Starlight Black.
