The Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy has launched a driving course to help drivers tackle wintry conditions.
The Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy has launched a driving course to equip drivers of new and used cars with the skills to tackle wintry conditions. The course, held at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge, Surrey, costs £100 and uses purpose-built handling circuits and driving facilities to simulate conditions that drivers may face.
Tailored to each individual, the one-hour course seeks to tackle a customer's fears and prepare them for the future through both discussion and driving, in one-on-one sessions.
Dermot Kelly, managing director Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars, believes the course enables people to experience the unique dangers of icy conditions, which is an invaluable lesson for any driver.
Mr Kelly said: "Mercedes-Benz leads the way in safety technology and now with our winter driving course we take this a step further."
Research for Sainsbury's Finance in January 2010 revealed that up to 23 per cent of men are likely to ignore advice not to drive in severe weather conditions.
