Mini Convertible has neat roof
29 January 2009
A car reviewer has stated that the roof on the new Mini Convertible Cooper S is 'neat'.
One of the greatest features of the new Mini Convertible Cooper S is the "neat" way that its canvas hood operates, a reviewer of the vehicle has stated.Writing for Car Magazine, Greg Fountain states that a "much cleaner look" is created, as the single-piece rollbar stays hidden behind the vehicle's rear seats until it is needed.
Buyers also only have to wait 15 seconds for the roof to retract into the boot, while an extra five litres of boot space is available to motorists, compared to those owning the previous model.
Furthermore "there is loads of fun to be had" with the new 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, which has a six-speed manual gearbox and accelerates from standstill to 62 miles per hour in a respectable 7.4 seconds.
Finally, compared to the older Mini Cooper, fuel consumption has been improved by 23 per cent, with the vehicle now able to complete 44.1 miles to the gallon, while it is also more eco-friendly.
In the Times, Jeremy Clarkson stated that the vehicle has "a properly good little chassis".
