Mini Cooper a giggle to drive

Mini Cooper a giggle to drive

03 February 2009

The Mini Cooper S has been labelled as a 'real giggle to drive'.

The new Mini Cooper S is a "real giggle to drive", while being a great deal sturdier than the first Mini Mk2 which arrived in 2006, according to a review.

Writing for the Times, Adam Towler argues that, although the updated vehicle is heavier than the older model because of the extra strengthening needed to the bodyshell as there is no roof, this doesn't affect the driving experience.

He stated that it has as "infectious enthusiasm for carving up curves", while the steering is reminiscent of that many people enjoy when flying around on a go-kart.

Also, used car drivers are "treated to its full and surprising repertoire of purrs, parps and pops", while enjoyment is heightened through the vehicle's strong brakes and light-handed gearshift.

The vehicle is reasonably beneficial towards the environment with it having a fuel consumption of 44.1 miles per gallon and generates 153g/km.

In the same newspaper, Jeremy Clarkson stated that there was much that he liked about the Mini Cooper S.
