More used smart cars may become available
02 September 2009
The car manufacturer smart has announced it is updating its line up from next month.
The number of used smart fortwo cdi models on the market may increase next month as the manufacturer launches an updated version of the car.Buyers will find the revised auto boasts a more powerful engine, which offers an extra nine bhp.
This means the car can hit 62 mph three seconds faster than the previous edition of the model.
However, smart claimed the additional power has not had a negative impact on the vehicle's green credentials.
Releasing less than 90 g/km of CO2, the model is the lowest-emitting production auto fitted with a combustion engine, the manufacturer stated.
In addition to the fortwo cdi's new engine, smart's range will enjoy a number of other updates from October.
All vehicles will boast higher specs and "stylish interior revisions", the carmaker revealed.
Prices for new models start at £8,517.55.
However, buyers may find they can secure more competitive deals on used smart cars.
