Motorists should prioritise servicing

Kwik-Fit has urged motorists to put servicing above expensive valeting.
Owners of new and used cars should be putting servicing before expensive vehicle washes, it has been claimed.According to Kwik-Fit, 1.5 million motorists expect to pay about £80 on valeting in the next 12 months.
However, the group pointed out seven million intend to cut running costs by skipping their next servicing appointment.
The company stated this could end up being a false economy, as a mechanic may be able to fix minor problems before they become serious and much more expensive to sort out.
Customer services director David White commented: "There's no point in having a gleaming car if it's on the road to nowhere."
Kwik-Fit insisted cosmetic maintenance should never be prioritised above keeping the mechanics of a vehicle working properly.
Meanwhile, the firm recently suggested owners of new and used cars should get their air conditioning units cleaned before the summer - or they could find the systems start releasing an unpleasant smell.
