The Land Rover Defender has been won a What Car? Reader Award.
New and used Land Rover fans may agree that one of the manufacturer's model's reliability made it worthy of a recent accolade. The Defender emerged victorious in the What Car? Reader Awards 2009, which was in part due to the vehicle's dependability, according to the website.
Over 20,000 reviews of different motors were considered in the run-up to the decision. However, the Defender came out with the highest average rating.
According to the editor of the publication Steve Fowler, the motor has always had a "devoted following".
He commented: "It's far from the most sophisticated car on the road, but its no-nonsense approach and longevity are what our readers like about it."
Meanwhile, in other categories, the Jaguar XJ was voted the best in the executive and luxury class, which may please those who drive used Jaguars.
In addition, the Porsche took the title in the best performance section.
The Defender is not the only Land Rover to have been recognised recently. The Discovery 4 was awarded with two honours at the Caravan Club Towcar of the Year Awards.
