New and used Mitsubishi drivers may be unsurprised by recent award

The Mitsubishi i MiEV has been named Electric Vehicle of the Year at the GreenFleet Awards.
Motorists who always opt for new or used Mitsubishi models may not be surprised to hear about the manufacturer's latest success.The carmaker's i MiEV has been named Electric Vehicle of the Year at the 2009 GreenFleet Awards.
Judges at the event revealed they had been particularly impressed with the auto's straightforward controls and practical cabin.
In addition, they said the charge time and range of the car are also worthy of note.
The model can cover up to 100 miles - and it can repeat this feat after being plugged in for six hours.
At the upcoming Tokyo auto show, the manufacturer intends to unveil more eco-friendly developments.
Sales and marketing director Toby Marshall said: "The i MiEV is only the start of an exciting future for Mitsubishi Motors."
Meanwhile, the company previously announced that several UK police forces had shown interest in trialling its all-electric model for use in crime-fighting duties.
