The One-77 wowed the public at an Italian motor show.
Aston Martin's new supercar may carry a £1.2 million price tag, but at least buyers can be reassured that they are purchasing an award-winning machine. The carmaker unveiled its One-77 concept at the Concorso d'Eleganza event at Grand Hotel Villa d'Este on the shores of Lake Como at the weekend and it immediately impressed onlookers.
Visitors to the motoring event were invited to vote for the best new design on show and Aston Martin's offering secured the support of almost a third of the car fanatics to win the Concorso d'Eleganza Design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes.
Marek Reichman, Aston Martin's design director, was delighted to see the car pick up its first honour.
To win this award at its first showing is a testament to the Aston Martin team and the original concept. Winning here has proven One-77 as a benchmark in automotive design," said Mr Reichman.
Aston Martin is currently working on another new model, the Rapide, which it plans to launch close to the end of the year.
