British carmaker Bentley is gearing up to unveil its new and persuasive vision of the Continental GT this month with an exclusive internet reveal on 7 September.
The unique public reveal will be hosted at a minisite (www.ContinentalGT.com) for one whole week, giving visitors the chance to experience the excitement of a formal motor show 'unveil'. Visitors can also take several virtual and bespoke tours of the new Continental GT by choosing a range of camera distances and angles, which are all designed to highlight the car's new powerful styling lines and sculpted, athletic body.
Further specification and details will be announced on the launch date.
Bentley Motors' Design Director Dirk van Braeckel, the designer behind the innovative Continental GT coupe, said: "In 2003 we designed a car like no other - a striking, luxury GT coupe combining the craftsmanship and refinement Bentley is renowned for with a purposeful, sporting road presence. Now we've taken the opportunity to write a new chapter for the Continental".
"The styling and design story in 2010 is just as dramatic and we believe this Bentley GT will be as instantly recognisable as its predecessor. We look forward to the moment the cameras are switched on and sharing the new Continental GT with enthusiasts across the world", he added.
Introduced in 2003, the initial version of Continental helped led Bentley's recovery by offering a completely new motoring experience. It was a premium 2+2 GT coupe delivering significant levels of everyday usability and striking performance through a powerful 6-litre W12 engine generating 552bhp.
To date, more than 22,000 Continental GTs have been sold and the strength of the design proposition and original engineering inspired the British marque to develop a 600hp GT Speed stablemate, a convertible Continental GTC and the recently launched 204mph supercar Supersports.
