New Kia Sorento is an economical choice
28 September 2009
Paul Horrell from the Telegraph has been assessing the pros and cons of the new Kia Sorento.
Drivers who always opt for new or used Kia models will find the updated Sorento offers class-leading fuel economy, it has been claimed.Writing for the Telegraph, Paul Horrell claimed the manufacturer has managed to achieve a significantly more economical vehicle by reducing the weight by 215 kg and fitting a revised diesel engine, along with a six-speed transmission.
He also pointed out the auto boasts CO2 emissions of 171 g/km and has been awarded a maximum five-star safety rating.
The journalist acknowledged there are many other similar-looking 4x4s on the market and admitted the Sorento does not stand out particularly in terms of appearance.
However, he added: "It's more than competent, the engine is excellent and it has seven seats. Balance all that against price and it presents a stout left-brain argument."
The model was unveiled at the Frankfurt International Motor Show earlier this month, alongside the new Venga.
