The latest version of the Mazda3 features a Smart Idling Stop System, the manufacturer has been announced.
A new version of the Mazda3 has been released, the manufacturer has announced.Buyers can now opt for an edition of the model that comes with the company's Smart Idling Stop System commonly known as i-stop.
The carmaker claimed the new technology could help owners make significant savings at the pump.
It explained the feature means the engine cuts out automatically when the vehicle is stationary or travelling at under two mph.
As soon as the person behind the wheel presses down on the clutch, the auto restarts.
The system is designed to improve fuel economy.
Fleet and remarketing director Peter Allibon said: "The all-new Mazda3 2.0 Sport with our exciting i-stop technology uniquely delivers both performance and cost savings to fleets, company car and individual drivers."
Meanwhile, auto buyers may be able to get a good deal on a used Mazda3 at the moment because the new version of the model was released in May.
When updated motors go on sale, prices for older editions of the same vehicle tend to fall.
