New Renault gets five stars in EuroNCAP

The new Renault Scenic has been awarded five stars in the EuroNCAP rating.
Renault's Grand Scenic has received a top rating from EuroNCAP.The car was awarded five stars by the body after performing well in crash tests, representing the 12th Renault model to achieve the best score.
Among the criteria on which the vehicle was tested includes side and rear impact, child and adult protection, pedestrian provision and equipment.
The manufacturer highlighted a series of features that enhanced its safety performance, including twin side impact sensors, six airbags and new generation headrests.
In addition, the Renault System for Restraint and Protection, which is comprised of double pretensioners, load limiters and dual-chamber, twin-stage adaptive front airbags, was employed in the vehicle.
The company stated it had studied real-world accidents in order to develop technology to prevent accidents, as well as protecting people involved in them.
Emergency Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control and CVS understeer control can also be found in the Grand Scenic.
The car has 130 bhp with 140 lb-ft torque and manages a top speed of 118 mph. It can reach 0-62 mph in 11.5 seconds.
