New Twingo Gordini may tempt used Renault fans
25 November 2009
The Renault Twingo Gordini RS has been unveiled.
Used Renault fans may be tempted to upgrade their vehicle following the unveiling of the Twingo Gordini RS.Reviewed by What Car?, the auto is expected to go on sale in March next year and marks the return of the manufacturer's "historic white-striped models".
The two "iconic" racing stripes are still present on the new version of the classic motor, which comes in either black or metallic blue.
With a 133 bhp, 1.6-litre engine, fans may swoon over the car's sporty theme, including seats made from black leather and wearing the Gordini logo, as well as a black and white striped, leather-trimmed steering wheel.
To top off the interior, the gear knob also has the marque's symbol.
Externally, the 17-inch alloy wheels, which can be finished in either black or blue, compliment the black gloss detailing on the front and rear bumpers.
This, along with a rear tailgate spoiler, distinguishes the motor from the Renaultsport 133 version on which it is based.
Amedee Gordini designed the first of the cars in the 1950s, with the Renault 8 Gordini having its first victorious run at the 1964 Tour of Corsica rally.
