Nissan extends deal for those buying British
2 July 2009Motorists looking to trade in their used cars may welcome an announcement from Nissan.
The manufacturer has revealed it is extending its deal that allows drivers with autos aged between eight and ten years old to trade them in for a minimum discount of £2,000 against any of its British-built models.
It stated this was a better deal than the government's scrappage scheme because under that initiative the vehicles being handed over must be at least a decade old.
Nissan's UK-built cars are the Micra, Qashqai, Qashqai+2 and Note.
The first of these is available under the extended deal from £5,995.
Managing director Paul Willcox said: "Our £2,000 minimum trade-in provides what the governments scrappage scheme fell short of offering - a real incentive to buy a British-built car."
However, motorists who still cannot afford to purchase a brand new auto may find there are some competitive deals on used Nissan models online.
