Peugeot UK has launched a special edition of the 308 hatchback five-door model to celebrate the brand's 200th anniversary. The new Peugeot 308 GT THP 200 is now available across nationwide dealerships, priced at £21,995 OTR.

Powering the car is a turbo-charged THP petrol engine generating 200 horsepower coupled to a six speed transmission, the same unit found on the new RCZ. As such, it delivers a low level of CO2 emissions of just 159g/km, while maintaining good levels of performance.

Visually, the 308 GT THP 200 has distinctive array of styling features, including twin chrome exhaust pipes, black carbon bumper inserts, a rear spoiler, a 'Sport' lower front panel based on the 308 CC, a lower rear bumper panel featuring Perla Nera black diffuser and "GT" badges fitted on the rear and side of the body.

Inside, the car also benefits from striking features, such as sports seats, footrest and gear lever knob, aluminium pedals, a black lacquer fascia front panel, Bluetooth hands-free telephone kit, comfort pack (rear arm rest and lumbar support), ambiance pack (lighting), electric folding door mirrors, half leather upholstery, carpet mats, alarm and leather sports steering wheel with aluminium detailing.

Safety wise, it is equipped with ABS, EBA, ESP, EBFD and six smart airbags as standard. Other standard equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, special sports GT 200 front grille, cruise control with speed limiter, leather sports steering wheel, front fog lights, dual zone climate control, radio/CD player with MP3 playback, electric front and rear windows and remote control central locking with deadlocks.

The 308 GT THP 200 comes in six exterior body colours - Aluminium, Babylon Red, Bianca White, Ipanema Blue, Nera Black, and Shark Grey - and all get a Payerne black half leather interior trim.
