Awards aplenty for Porsche vehicles in 2008.
Porsche picked up a number of awards for its sports cars in various ceremonies throughout 2008.The 911, Boxster, Cayman and Cayenne models received numerous prizes, underlining its popularity among the magazine's readers.
Porsche's 911 Carrera Cabriolet emerged as the favourite convertible, picking up the auto motor und sport magazine's Overall Convertible Award.
Meanwhile, the Boxster received the Most Sporting Car in 2008 award, voted for by readers of Auto Zeitung, in the Convertible/Roadster category.
Elsewhere, Porsche's ever-popular four-wheel drive Cayenne was voted Best Offroader of the Year by the readers of Diners Club Magazine.
Porsche recently announced that the new Cayenne Diesel has gone into production in Leipzig, Germany.
The latest model in the Porsche range will be equipped with a three litre V6 turbo diesel boasting 240 HP.
However, the Cayenne Diesel is not expected to be available for sale until February 2009, which may leave many UK motorists opting for a used car alternative in the mean time.
