Porsche pleased with unit sales figures
29 January 2010
Luxury car firm Porsche has expressed its satisfaction with new sales figures.
The latest unit sales figures from Porsche are "very encouraging", the car maker has said.It revealed that it is closing the gap that appeared in the first few months of last year, when unit sales experienced a year-on-year drop of 25 per cent.
Porsche predicts the fall to be reduced to 3.1 per cent, however, having noted that its preliminary six-month figures are promising.
Europe is looking stronger for the famous brand than North America.
Porsche's Cayenne is its bestseller, but preliminary figures for sales of the recently-released Panamera are also looking hopeful.
The company said in a statement that it "continues to assume that unit sales for the full fiscal year 2009/10 will exceed the prior-year figure of 75,238 vehicles".
Earlier this month, Porsche displayed its newest 911 racing car for the first time.
The world debut of the 911 GT3 R took place at the Autosport International show, held at the Birmingham NEC.
