Vauxhall announced that the prices of its new Meriva MPV will start at about 15,495 pounds.

It is higher compared to the cost of the present model, and even greater than the price of the basic Nissan Note or Citroen C3 Picasso. Thats because the new car is bigger and more practical compared to its predecessor. It also has a more powerful entry-level engine.

All the models in the new array also feature back doors that are attached at the rear, which could open at a nearly 90 degrees angle. This makes it more convenient for passengers to enter and get out of the car.

Its cabin can be positioned in various ways even without removing the seats. Both the rear seats of the car can be moved forwards and backwards separately and can be slid inward to have more legroom and shoulder width.

The car is fitted with standard kit including heated door mirrors, electric windows and a CD player. However, customers will need to pay an additional 500 pounds if they want to have air-conditioning.

Every trim has standard cooled air, together with curtain airbags, cruise control, and the Flexrail system. Vauxhall said this transforms the traditional centre console into an adjustable storage area that will accommodate a variety of daily items such as handbags, sunglasses and MP3 players.

The prices of the topping SE models in the range start at around 17,430 pounds and features a panoramic glass roof with a tinted rear windows, electronic sunshade and folding tables located on the front seat backs.

The company is now accepting orders for the car, which is available into two diesel and three petrol engines.
